Trio of Kasumi damascene knives and sharpener
The KASUMI damascene knives are manufactured in the city of Seki in Japan – where the art of making knives has been going on for 700 years.
KASUMI blades are made using the traditional Japanese technique applied to produce the swords.
The main steel used by Kasumi is stainless steel, with a high contents of carbonium, the V-Gold No.10 with a cutting-edge hardness of 59-60 HRC.
The damascene stainless steel has 32 layers that can be seen on both sides of the principal cutting blade, as the result of a repeated folding and of the forged piece of the different layers of thin stainless steel.
Each blade is hand finished and made with a handle of multi-stratus black wood.
