Thanks to a special metal alloy developed after years of research, it enables you to observe how a wine may evolve over time, helping you determine the ideal moment to enjoy it. How it works Clef du Vin is a small metal key featuring a patented alloy at its tip. By immersing it in the wine for a few seconds, it accelerates in a controlled way the oxidation-reduction reactions responsible for the wine's aromatic evolution. Tasting the wine before and after immersion allows you to perceive possible changes in its sensory profile and assess its ageing potential. As a general guideline: 1 second of immersion corresponds to approximately 1 year of wine ageing. The immersion time can be gradually increased to observe how the wine evolves. If the wine improves or maintains its balance, it has good ageing potential. If it quickly loses freshness or harmony, it is advisable to drink it sooner rather than later.
